Ordering Process

How do I place an order for custom boxes?

It's easy. You've got a few options:

  1. Use our online box builder – Design and order right on the website.
  2. Fill out the custom quote form – with your specifications, and our team will prepare a detailed quote for you.
  3. Get in touch – Call or email us if you’d rather talk it through.

Before we start production, you'll get a digital proof to review and approve. Nothing moves forward until you're happy.

What is the minimum order quantity?

We don’t have any! You can order as little as one box if that’s all you need. No minimums, no pressure.

For smaller quantities, we offer some pre-designed packaging options that can be purchased in smaller batches. Please contact our sales team for more information about low-volume options.

What information do I need to provide for a quote?

To provide you with an accurate quote, we need the following information:

  • Box style/type (reverse tuck end box, auto bottom box, mailer box, gift box, rigid box, etc.)
  • Dimensions (length, width, height)
  • Material preferences (SBS card, art card, black card, bux board, corrugated stock, kraft, rigid board, etc.)
  • Printing requirements (full color, spot colors, etc.)
  • Finishing options (matte/gloss lamination, spot UV, foil stamping, etc.)
  • Order quantity
  • Shipping destination
  • Target delivery date (if applicable)

The more details you provide, the more accurate your quote will be. If you have design files or reference images, please include those as well.

Can I request samples before placing a bulk order?

Yes, we offer several sampling options:

  • Material samples: Free samples of our available materials and finishes.
  • Generic sample kit: A collection of various box styles and finishes to help you understand our quality (┬ú20, refundable against your first order).
  • Custom samples: Made-to-order samples of your specific design (charged at a per-unit rate, typically ┬ú50-150 depending on complexity).

Custom sample production typically takes 7-10 business days. This is highly recommended for larger orders to ensure everything meets your expectations before full production.

What is your design approval process?

Our design approval process ensures your packaging meets your expectations:

  1. Initial consultation: We discuss your requirements and design ideas.
  2. Digital proof: We provide a 2D digital proof showing the design layout.
  3. Revisions: You can request up to 3 rounds of revisions to the digital proof.
  4. Final approval: Once you're satisfied, you approve the design for production.
  5. Physical sample (optional): For complex projects, we recommend ordering a physical sample.

Production begins only after you've approved the final design. This helps prevent costly mistakes and ensures you're completely satisfied with the end product.

Customization

What customization options do you offer?

We offer a wide range of customization options for your packaging:

  • Custom dimensions: Boxes made to your exact size specifications.
  • Printing: Full-color CMYK printing, Pantone color matching, or specialty inks.
  • Premium finishes: Matte or gloss lamination, soft-touch coating, spot UV, foil stamping, embossing/debossing.

  • Inserts: Custom foam, cardboard, or paper inserts to hold your products securely.
  • Windows: Die-cut windows with or without PVC film.
  • Special features: Magnetic closures, ribbon pulls, handles, and other functional elements.

Our team can help you choose the best customization options for your brand and budget.

What file formats do you accept for artwork and designs?

For the best print quality, we recommend providing your artwork in the following formats:

  • Vector formats (preferred): AI (Adobe Illustrator), EPS, PDF
  • Raster formats: PSD (Adobe Photoshop), TIFF, JPG (high resolution, minimum 300 DPI)

Your artwork should be set up with the following specifications:

  • CMYK color mode (not RGB)
  • All fonts converted to outlines/paths
  • 3mm bleed on all sides
  • 300 DPI resolution for all images
  • Layers intact (for PSD files)

If you don't have print-ready artwork, our design team can assist you in creating or adapting your design for an additional fee.

Do you offer design services if I don't have my own artwork?

Yes, we offer professional design services for clients who need assistance with their packaging artwork:

  • Basic design service: Includes simple layout of your existing logo and text on our box templates (┬ú100-150).
  • Standard design service: Custom design work based on your brand guidelines and requirements (┬ú200-350).
  • Premium design service: Comprehensive packaging design, including concept development, multiple options, and unlimited revisions (┬ú350-600+).

Our design process typically includes:

  1. Initial consultation to understand your brand and design preferences
  2. Concept development and presentation
  3. Revisions based on your feedback
  4. Final artwork preparation for printing

Design fees are separate from production costs but are often discounted for larger orders.

Can you match specific brand colors?

Yes, we can match your specific brand colors using two primary methods:

  • CMYK Process Printing: For full-color designs, we use CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) process printing. This can reproduce most colors accurately, though some vibrant or specific brand colors may have slight variations.
  • Pantone (PMS) Color Matching: For the most precise color matching, we offer Pantone color matching. This ensures your brand colors are reproduced exactly as specified. Pantone matching typically incurs an additional charge but is recommended for brand-critical colors.

To ensure accurate color matching:

  • Provide Pantone color codes if possible
  • Send physical color samples if you have them
  • Request a physical proof before full production

Please note that different materials and finishes can affect how colors appear on the final product.

What is the difference between various finishing options?

Different finishing options provide unique aesthetics and tactile experiences:

  • Matte Lamination: A non-reflective finish that provides a sophisticated, modern look with a smooth feel. It's fingerprint-resistant and gives a premium appearance.
  • Gloss Lamination: A shiny, reflective finish that makes colors appear more vibrant and provides good protection. Ideal for highly visual designs with photographs.
  • Soft-Touch Lamination: A velvety, luxurious finish that adds a tactile element to your packaging. It creates a premium feel that encourages customers to hold and engage with the packaging.
  • Spot UV: A glossy coating applied to specific areas of the design, creating contrast between matte and shiny elements. Great for highlighting logos or specific design features.
  • Foil Stamping: Metallic or colored foil applied to specific areas, adding a reflective, premium quality. Available in gold, silver, copper, holographic, and many other colors.
  • Embossing/Debossing: Creates raised (embossed) or recessed (debossed) elements in the packaging, adding a tactile dimension. Can be combined with foil for even more impact.
  • Holographic Lamination: A rainbow-like reflective effect that changes appearance as it catches the light from different angles.

We can provide samples of these finishes to help you decide which option best suits your brand and budget.

Materials & Quality

What materials do you use for your packaging boxes?

We offer a variety of materials to suit different packaging needs:

  • Bleached White Card: Bright white, smooth surface ideal for vibrant printing. Available in various thicknesses (250gsm to 400gsm).

How durable are your packaging boxes?

The durability of our packaging depends on the materials and construction chosen:

  • Standard cardstock boxes (250-350gsm): Suitable for lightweight products and display packaging. Provides good presentation but limited protection for shipping.
  • Heavy cardstock boxes (350-400gsm): More durable, suitable for medium-weight products. Can withstand moderate handling.
  • Corrugated boxes (E-flute, L1): Highly durable and suitable for shipping. Can protect contents during transit and handling.
  • Rigid boxes (1.5-3mm board): Extremely sturdy and long-lasting. Provides maximum protection and a premium unboxing experience.

Factors that affect durability include:

  • Material thickness and type
  • Box construction and style
  • Lamination (adds water resistance and durability)
  • Product weight and size
  • Shipping and handling conditions

We recommend discussing your specific requirements with our team to ensure you select the appropriate materials for your intended use.

Are your boxes food-safe?

Yes, we offer food-safe packaging options that comply with food safety regulations:

  • Food-grade materials: We use cardboard and paper stocks that are certified for food contact.
  • Food-safe inks: Our food packaging uses low-migration, food-safe inks that comply with relevant regulations.
  • Food-safe coatings: When required, we use food-grade laminations and coatings.

Important considerations for food packaging:

  • For direct food contact (where food touches the packaging directly), we recommend using an additional food-grade liner or barrier.
  • Different food types (oily, dry, moist) have different packaging requirements.
  • We provide certification documents for our food-safe materials upon request.

When ordering food packaging, please specify that the boxes will be used for food products so we can ensure compliance with all relevant food safety standards.

How do you ensure quality control?

We maintain strict quality control throughout the production process:

  1. Pre-production inspection: We review all materials and artwork before production begins to ensure they meet our quality standards.
  2. During production checks: Our production team conducts regular checks throughout the manufacturing process, monitoring color accuracy, print quality, and construction.
  3. Assembly inspection: Each box is checked for proper assembly, with attention to gluing, folding, and overall construction.
  4. Final quality control: Before packaging and shipping, we conduct a final inspection on a statistical sample of the production run to verify all quality parameters.
  5. Client approval: For custom orders, we often provide pre-production samples for client approval before full production.

Our quality control checks include:

  • Color accuracy and consistency
  • Print quality and registration
  • Finishing quality (lamination, foil stamping, embossing, etc.)
  • Box dimensions and structural integrity
  • Assembly quality and functionality

We stand behind our products with a quality guarantee. If you receive boxes that don't meet the agreed specifications, we'll work with you to resolve the issue promptly.

Do your boxes come assembled or flat-packed?

Most of our boxes are shipped flat-packed (unassembled) for several reasons:

  • Reduced shipping costs: Flat-packed boxes take up less space, significantly reducing shipping costs.
  • Lower environmental impact: Smaller shipping volumes mean reduced carbon footprint.
  • Storage efficiency: You can store more flat-packed boxes in your facility until they're needed.
  • Less damage in transit: Flat boxes are less likely to be crushed or damaged during shipping.

Our boxes are designed for easy assembly:

  • Most styles can be assembled without glue or tape
  • Clear assembly instructions are provided when needed
  • Our box designs prioritize efficient and intuitive assembly

For certain premium packaging types (especially rigid boxes), pre-assembled options are available at an additional cost. Please specify if you require pre-assembled boxes when requesting a quote.

We provide detailed quotes that break down the costs, allowing you to adjust specifications to meet your budget if needed. Volume discounts are available for larger orders, and we're happy to suggest cost-saving alternatives that don't compromise quality.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept several payment methods for your convenience:

  • Credit/Debit Cards: We accept all major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
  • Bank Transfer: Direct bank transfers are available for larger orders.
  • PayPal: Secure payments through PayPal are accepted.
  • Company Check: Available for established business clients (please allow additional processing time).

For new customers, we typically require a 50% deposit before production begins, with the balance due before shipping. For returning customers with good payment history, we offer more flexible payment terms.

For larger orders, we may be able to arrange payment plans or other flexible payment options. Please contact our sales team to discuss your specific requirements.

Do you offer volume discounts?

Yes, we offer significant volume discounts on larger orders. The per-unit price decreases as your order quantity increases due to economies of scale in production.

Typical volume discount tiers:

  • 250-499 units: Standard pricing

Do eco-friendly options cost more?

The cost of eco-friendly packaging options compared to standard options varies based on several factors:

Cost Comparison:

  • Recycled cardstock: Generally 5-15% more expensive than virgin cardstock, depending on recycled content percentage.
  • FSC-certified materials: Typically 3-10% price premium over non-certified alternatives.
  • Kraft paper: Often similar in price or sometimes less expensive than white cardstock.
  • Vegetable-based inks: May add 5-8% to printing costs.
  • Biodegradable coatings: Generally 10-20% more expensive than standard lamination.

Cost Factors to Consider:

  • Order volume: The price difference often decreases with larger order quantities.
  • Material availability: More common eco-friendly materials have a smaller price differential.
  • Specific requirements: Specialized sustainable materials may carry a higher premium.
  • Design complexity: Simpler, material-efficient designs can offset some of the higher material costs.

  • Simplified finishing: Reducing complex finishes can improve recyclability and lower costs.
  • Larger order quantities: Economies of scale apply to eco-friendly options too.

While eco-friendly options may have a slightly higher upfront cost, many brands find the investment worthwhile for:

  • Enhanced brand image and consumer perception
  • Meeting consumer expectations for sustainable practices
  • Alignment with corporate sustainability goals
  • Potential marketing advantages in eco-conscious markets

We're happy to provide comparative quotes for standard and eco-friendly options to help you make an informed decision based on your budget and sustainability goals.
